I am Jane Doe, a documentary about the legal battle that American mothers are engaged in for their middle school daughters who were trafficked to sex online on Backpage.com. This classified advertising website was previously owned by Village Voice. The film is narrated Jessica Chastain by director Mary Mazzio. Also produced by Mazzio and Alec Sokolow. The film’s 50 percent profit will be donated to non profits that support children who have been victims of human traficking.
A man washed ashore at Euclid beach found the victim’s upper trunk. The spot of the victim’s discovery was located near the place where ” Lady of the Lake”, was discovered on September 6, 1934. Two months later, her lower body was found floating in East 30th Street, closer to the Cuyahoga River. Her head, arms, and legs were not found. It is unclear if she was dropped at Kingsbury Run, or floated in Lake Erie from the Cuyahoga river.
Jane Doe #1, the victim, is also known by the nickname “Victim #7”, of Cleveland Torso Murderer. Twelve transients, hobos and their bodies were murdered and dismembered by the Cleveland Torso Murderer between 1935-1938. Of these twelve victims, only two were ever found. Investigators suspect there are more victims. Investigators believed there were more victims.
